General Aviation Accidents:
Another specialty of the firm is handling accidents that involve general aviation aircraft such as piston and turbine powered aircraft manufactured by Cessna Aircraft Company, Piper Aircraft Company, Beechcraft Aircraft Company, Cirrus and others. Included in general aviation accidents are helicopter accidents involving helicopters manufactured by Sikorsky, Agusta Aerospace, Bell, Robinson helicopters and Aerospatiale. Most of these aircraft and helicopters are operated under part 91 of the Federal Aviation Regulations and are operated for pleasure by civilians. These accidents involve mid-air collisions, wire strike accidents, ground incursions, component part failures that result in a loss of control of the aircraft in visual or instrument conditions and other defects and failures in the systems of the aircraft. Given this unique area of expertise, our firm retains experts who are specialized in accident reconstruction, aerodynamics, engineering, forensic evaluation and other factors such as weather.

Product Liability Litigation:
Although aviation litigation is our specialty, our firm also has extensive experience in handling cases that involve defective and dangerous products that cause serious injury or death. We have handled cases involving products and components parts thereto such as automobiles, motorcycles, loaders, tractors, grading machinery, forklifts and other specialized equipment.
Premises Liability Litigation:
Our firm has handled cases that involve dangerous conditions on property that cause serious injury and death. This would include property that a company is exercising control over such as a construction site, easements, leased land and structures constructed thereon. These cases often involve an intense investigation, as it is necessary to prove that the owner or occupier of the premises had knowledge of said dangerous condition or should have known before the accident. In these cases, experts are retained to testify regarding the standard of care to be followed by an owner or occupier of land and whether certain safety precautions should be taken to prevent an accident.
Tractor Trailer Accidents:
Our firm has specialty in handling accidents involving tractor-trailers that operate on freeways throughout the United States. Special regulations govern the duties and responsibilities of commercial operators of tractor-trailers. In these cases that involve multiple vehicle involvement, accident reconstruction is the key to determining causation and liability.

Military Aircraft & Helicopter Accidents:
Our firm has unique expertise in the area of representing military families whose loved ones have been seriously injured or lost in military aircraft including helicopters and fighter jets. We have extensive connections in Washington D. C. In dealing with the government in such accidents and in depth familiarity with Federal and Military Law such as the Judge Advocate General who has responsibility in investigating such accidents. Conducting discovery in such cases requires a working knowledge of the JAGMAN Manual and military regulations. Having handled such cases in the past we have developed relationships with "key people" in various branches of the military to facilitate discovery.
Furthermore, there is a unique area of Federal Law that prohibits lawsuits against government contractors in the case of a design defect which causes an accident. Known as the Government Contractor's Defense, our firm has creative ways of defeating this defense so that families can be adaquately compensated for serious injuries or loss of life rather than being thrown out of court.
Our firm has also been active in the case of military accidents in assuring that the government and/or the contractor take corrective steps to prevent future accidents.
Commercial Airline Disasters:
Our firm specializes in accidents involving major airlines and other commercial operators that operate under part 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. These include aircraft that are chartered for hire as well as commercial and commuter airlines that provide scheduled service and specialized flights such as private aircraft charter such as Cessna, Learjet, Falcon Jets and other manufacturers. These cases often involve an analysis of the nature of the accident, an in-depth review of the maintenance history of the aircraft, similar component part failures, Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation and Safety Board involvement with the carrier or charter company. The firm has experience handling such litigation and has expert witnesses that are on call to respond to such disasters on short notice to immediately commence an investigation of such accident. In the case of any aviation accident, early investigation is the key to gathering critical evidence that may prove useful later in the case.
Train, Bus and Mass Transportation Accidents:
Our firm also has been involved in handling accidents involving ground based common carriers such as trains, busses and trolleys. Many of these accidents, similar to aviation accidents, are investigated by the National Transportation and Safety Administration.
Class Action Litigation:
We have handled many “class action” lawsuits that involve products, including dangerous over the counter medications and herbal products, such as ephedrine based diet pills. We have and currently are involved in mass disaster litigation such as the San Diego wildfires that caused harm and loss of property to homeowners in the San Diego area in October of 2006.
Our firm led the nation in commencing class action lawsuits involving dangerous diet pills such as Metabolife 356, Cytodyne RFA-1 and others. Our firm represented hundreds of individuals who were injured as a result of the manufacture of such pills using ephedrine, a previously unregulated stimulant that was used in the manufacturing process. As a result of the litigation and going to trial on a class action, ephedrine has been banned in the United States.
